JEGOU: "I just want to go paddling, go training"

On the traces of his God. Liam Jegou, a 19-year-old Franco-Irish paddler from Huningue (France), is cut out to be the next best thing in terms of canoe slalom. In 2014, when he was only 18 years old, Liam finished 2nd at the ICF Junior & U23 Canoe Slalom World Championships. At the 2015 ICF World Championships in London, he was the youngest athlete to secure a spot in the C1 semi-finals as a senior... There are no doubts: the young Irishman has got the talent to qualify for Rio 2016, which would be his first Olympic Games and, maybe, become the first Irish C1 paddler on the Olympic podium. Liam Jegou provided an exclusive interview for L'Union du Sport, mentioning the mental aspect of the sport, comparing English and Irish to French canoeing and chatting about his biggest challenge: his "Road to Rio"!

Peur de l'inconnu ? Pas pour Nicolas Naas ! Avant de se lancer dans l'athlétisme, le demi-fondeur du Saint-Louis Running Club a fait ses débuts dans un sport qui n'avait rien, mais alors vraiment rien à voir avec son sport actuel : le rugby... Cela ne paraît pas étonnant, venant de quelqu'un qui vit au jour le jour. C'est au centre sportif du Pfaffenholz, situé à deux pas de la Suisse, que Nicolas Naas accepte de rencontrer L'Union du Sport. Dans le cadre d'une interview exclusive, il revient notamment sur ses championnats du Haut-Rhin 2013, sur sa stratégie de course et sur son année 2014, qui a été un véritable flop...

Sa passion, c'est la natation. « C'est mon domaine », affirme Florent Heugel. Le Ludovicien a de l'audace. Il s'entraîne dur chaque jour parce qu'il a un rêve, celui de nager contre les meilleurs nageurs du monde. Florent Heugel a les yeux rivés sur un événement, les Jeux Olympiques de Tokyo en 2020.
